Lewis-Goetz & Co. had forecast
sales of $85 million for 2004, but a strong second half of the year
resulted in the company blowing past that forecast, as it recorded
2004 sales of more than $90 million. The first quarter of this year
was even better with sales of $25 million, a record for the hose
distributorship, says Dave Goetz, president and CEO. Goetz credits
the strong business due to a better economy, refocused sales
efforts, customer segmentation and a new major supplier. The company
has also developed an incentive plan for its inside sales staff and
rolled out an activity-based costing program.
