Synthetic Fiber
LewisGoetz stocks a wide variety of sizes and styles of synthetic yarn braided packing lubricated with graphite, Teflon, petrolatum and other different oils designed for your specific application. Synthetic fiber packing is used in pumps and valves for general service oil, water and chemicals. Typically the temperature range falls between -32°F to 500°F, chemical service from 2 - 12 ph and shaft speeds up to 3000 fpm.
Carbon/Graphite Fiber
LewisGoetz stocks a wide variety of carbon and graphite yarn braided packing. Carbon/Graphitic packing is used primarily in more harsh and demanding applications like high temperature steam, hydro-carbon service in industries like Power, Refining, Pulp and Paper and Refining. Typically the temperature range falls between -32°F - 1200°F, chemical service from 0 - 14 ph (except for strong oxidizing media applications) and shaft speeds up to 4000 fpm.
Flexible Graphite
LewisGoetz stocks a full range of sizes in flexible graphite braided packing. Flexible graphite braided packing is used in high temperature and high pressure applications, where fire safety and tight sealing is required and industries like Refining, Chemical, Petro-Chemical and Power demand. Typically used in temperatures up to 1200°F, PH ranges of 0 - 14 (except for strong oxidizing media applications) and pressures up to 4000 PSI and shaft speeds up to 4000 fpm.
Teflon
LewisGoetz stocks a full range of sizes in Teflon braided packing. Teflon packing is used in harsh chemical and food applications. Its ability to resist degradation by media and its cleanliness to resist contamination in food applications makes it a versatile product for the Chemical, Food and Pharmaceutical Industries. Typically the temperature range falls between -400°F to 500°F, chemical service from 0 - 14 ph and shaft speeds up to 1500 fpm.
Kevlar
LewisGoetz Stocks a full range of sizes in Kevlar braided packing. Kevlar (also called aramid) is a DuPont product that thrives in harsh abrasive type applications. It can be combined with other packing yarns that create better sealing and less shaft wear. Although used in many industries, the Power, Steel, Quarry and Waste Water Industries are where you will find the majority of Kevlar based packing. Typically the temperature range falls between -200°F and 500°F, chemical service from 4 - 12 ph and shaft speeds up to 2000 fpm.
Die-Formed Rings
LewisGoetz supplies a full range of sizes in Die-Formed Rings both in flat and "cup and cone" designs. Die-Formed Rings are typically used in valves where the most strict leakage control is demanded, high pressure and high temperature applications and in pumps where a virtual leak free seal is required. Die-Formed Rings are combined with braided end rings to prevent product migration. They are typically found in the Power and Refining Industries although not limited to. The temperature range falls between 1200°F in saturated steam (900°F in oxidizing atmosphere), chemical service from 0 - 14 ph (except strong oxidizers) and shaft speeds up to 4000 fpm.
